There Is Hope After the Storm
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." — Jeremiah 29:11
If you're reading this, you may be facing one of the hardest seasons of your life. We know, because we've lived it.
Our Story
We are the Long family, and our family has seen struggle. We lost our source of income and livelihood, which led to failed businesses, impounded vehicles, and the loss of real estate. We lost not just a house, but our home. We even had to give up our family dog.
It shattered our family. That loss led to divorce. Broken homes. Custody fights. Extended families picking sides. Broken to the point of homelessness.
But that wasn't the end of our story.
Today, we are a living testimony that restoration is possible: mended relationships, healing from brokenness, living amends, rejuvenation, and yes, a new home. The God who allowed Jeremiah to write those words of hope to a people in exile was writing them for us, too. And He's writing them for you.
Buying a Field of Hope
In Jeremiah 32, we find one of the strangest and most powerful acts of faith in Scripture. Jerusalem was under siege. Babylon's army surrounded the city. Destruction was certain. And in that moment, God told Jeremiah to buy a field.
A field about to be conquered by an enemy. It made no sense financially. And yet Jeremiah purchased it as a sign, because God promised: "Houses, fields and vineyards will again be bought in this land" (Jeremiah 32:15).
Jeremiah bought hope when everyone else saw only loss.
That's the spirit we bring to every family we serve. When it feels like everything is falling apart, there can be a future on the other side. Sometimes the bravest act of faith is planting hope in the middle of the storm.
